Anna Leigh Ashford

Annaleigh Amanda Ashford (born April 14th 1988) was an American actor, singer and dancer. Her early roles on Broadway included in productions Wicked Legally Blonde and Hair. The actress was awarded an award from the Tony Award for Best Featured actress in a Play to play Essie Carmichael in You Can't Take It With You. Annaleigh Ashley, Tony Award winning actor and actress, has worked with directors and actors on stage and screen for all her life. Ashford will be next starring opposite Kumail Nanjiani as part of the Hulu special series Welcome to Chippendales from creator Robert Siegel premiering on November 22. Ashford's most recent film involves Searchlight Pictures horror thriller Dust, starring alongside Sarah Paulson and Ebonmoss-Bachrach. The film is a Hulu Original and will be streamed via Disney DTC. In March of 2023 Ashford will return to Broadway as a co-star with Josh Groban in the revival of Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre. Thomas Kail, director and producer of Hamilton will lead the production. Ashford was most recently seen as Paula Jones in the new Ryan Murphy FX series American Crime Story Impeachment inspired by the national crisis that swept to Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky and Linda Tripp as principal characters in the country's first impeachment trial in more than 100 years. Over the course of two seasons, Ashford played a prominent role in the hit show on CBS called B Positive. It was written by Marco Pennette, Chuck Lorre and Linda Lavin. It also featured Hector Elizondo and Ben Vereen. Other Broadway credits for Ashford are Sunday in the Park, in which she starred with George Wicked legally Blonde, and her performance as Lauren in Kinky Boots. For this performance, she was awarded a Tony Award nomination. Growing up in Denver Ashford now splits her time between Los Angeles and New York.
